Most sync issues fall into a small number of common categories. This article walks through how to diagnose and resolve the most frequent ones.
Authorization expired or was revoked
The most common cause of a failed sync is that the authorization granted to Coefficient was revoked or expired on the source platform's side — often because a password was changed, an app permission was revised, or an admin on the source platform removed access. The fix is usually to reconnect the source from Integrations, which walks you through re-authorizing it.
Sync completed but data looks incomplete
If a sync completes without an error but the resulting data looks incomplete, check whether the connected account on the source platform has access to all the properties or views you expect — a sync can only pull data the authorizing account itself has access to. This is a common issue when the account that originally connected a source later has its own permissions reduced on that platform.
Sync is delayed beyond the expected schedule
Occasional delays can happen if the source platform is experiencing its own service disruption, since Coefficient depends on that platform's availability to sync. Check the source platform's own status page if a sync appears stuck well beyond its usual schedule. If a source has been failing to sync for an extended period with no explanation, reach out through the Help Center.
Numbers don't match the source platform directly
Small discrepancies between a number in Coefficient and the same metric viewed directly in the source platform are usually explained by differences in time zone settings, date range boundaries, or how a metric is defined between the two platforms, rather than a sync error. Confirm both are using the same time zone and date range before assuming there's a syncing problem.
When to contact support
If none of the above explains the issue, or a source has failed to sync repeatedly despite reconnecting, the Help Center can route you to support with the specific workspace and data source details.
