Workspaces

Workspaces overview

A workspace is your paying account — it holds your subscription, plan, and the clients you manage within it. Within a workspace, each client is its own isolated container for a single business or brand: its connected data sources, dashboards, reports, and the users who have access to it. Most of what you do in Coefficient happens inside a specific client.

Why clients are isolated

Each client's data, connections, and configuration are kept separate from every other client, even within the same workspace. This matters most for agencies and multi-brand teams managing several clients or brands: connecting a data source for one client never exposes that data to another client, and permissions are scoped per client rather than applying workspace-wide by default.

When to add a new client

A new client generally makes sense when you're managing a genuinely separate business context — a new agency client, a distinct brand, or a region with its own data sources and stakeholders. Within a single business, it's usually better to use one client with multiple dashboards than to split things into several clients, since dashboards, users, and reports are easiest to manage when they're not fragmented unnecessarily.

Switching between clients

If you have access to more than one client, a switcher lets you move between them without signing out. Recently visited clients appear first, which is particularly useful for agency accounts managing many of them.

Workspace and client settings

From workspace settings, workspace admins can manage billing and workspace-wide membership. From a specific client's settings, client admins can rename the client, manage its connected data sources, invite or remove users, and review audit log activity scoped to that client. See Managing Multiple Workspaces for guidance if your account has access to more than one workspace.
